  2. The falls are an incredible asset to this town. The problem is the eyesore properties around them. Tear down the Plywood Palace, the dive apartments on River st. and at the end of Summer st. and THEN get developers in. The Woolson Block and the Park and Woolson buildings would make great riverfront condos, which would bring PAYING customers to downtown. Low income housing is killing downtown, and more of it will spell the end for Springfield.

    1. You're late to the party. Springfield is already dead and bloated. The low income parasites and an associated, selfish, liberal mentality achieved critical mass years ago. Between the raging opiate epidemic, failed school system, prison housing, vacant store fronts, abandoned mill buildings, refuge for disability scamming bums, drunks and addicts, River Street slum lords and expanding blight no successful young family or comfortably retired professionals in their right mind would choose to live here. With few such residents no technology jobs, entertainment venue or desirable retail business can thrive. A catch 22 that further alienates ambitious young people. All a direct result a profoundly ignorant liberal ideology that insisted on adding one more nail to the coffin of, "good for the community." The liberals now have their town-wide, inclusive, green playground. Hope to hell you're enjoying it.

    2. I AM enjoying watching this town come back! Too bad you conservatives won't be able to take credit for it; all you're good for is negativity and whining! Oh, and by the way, who do you think OWNS those slums where the "scammers and bums" live? CONSERVATIVES LIVING OFF OF THE TAXPAYERS!

  3. Knock down the rest of the buildings from the plywood palace all the way to h&r block(leave that building)...put in some downtown parking there. Any business can rent from stoplights towards town hall. Town looks full! And dumpy ass buildings are gone
